Refusing to leave space camp?

 

The only vocals at present are the first line of the first verse and the first chorus. While I’ve written most of the lyrics, I’m still in the process of flushing the song out, so that’ll wait before laying anything else down. It may cause some to find it weird, but they’ve just been slotted in there as a template.

• Still working on the out. Have to address an electric guitar part there. I know what I’m going to do, just haven’t done it yet.
  
• Levels are all over the place. I’ve new speakers and am working in a new space, it’ll be a while before I get in line with where things sit in here and from my chair. That said, I work very quickly and levels aren’t something I tend to pay a lot of attention to during the process. Recording acoustics with my Neuman in any new space and with new gear is a process, especially regarding levels.
  
• There is no bass guitar in this song. I’ve been obsessed with using synths for low end combined with acoustics and went into this song with that expressed purpose. That said, Milos is going to have to get some sort of synth pedal - though he probably already has something. After that, I’ll make him and Anthony fight in the thunderdome.

Not sure if this is an official name or not but the first demo appears to be on an album named "Chaotic Neutral."

 

e: I like the instrumentals as well. "Night Orders" is kind of Bowie-esque and Avalanche era.

I'm quite enjoying these demos. I like Arrows but this is the kind of music that has more of an impact on me from Matthew Good. At first I thought Space Camp was repetitive and got kind of boring but now I think it's pretty interesting and look forward to seeing what he does with it. Night Orders is more classic MG with some nice melody and ambience. I'm fine with this direction.

This is a little off topic but I just need to say I love the song Hornets. I love when artists have unreleased songs that are just as good if not better than the songs that make the albums.

 

Also to be back on topic I finally heard the new demos and really like the direction. A little more old school yet fresh. Love it. Hope to hear more in the near future.

The thought of Matt Good putting out a 20+ minute track is too fucking cool.

 

This coming from a huge fan of Yes and similar prog rock bands who routinely put out tracks of that length.
