Matthew Good 2011 Tour Dates!

Any word on the Moncton setlist?

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I think these are all of the songs that were played. This list is definitely NOT in order, except for Shallow's Low as opener and Rabbits as first encore song.

Just got back from the Pembroke show. Never been to that town, but was only a 90 minute drive from Ottawa so why not? It was a TINY venue, a small theater hall attached to a high school.. Only 17 rows of seats on the main floor, then 11 more rows up on the balcony = just over 600 seats. I've had high school assemblies with more people than that lol. But it was neat to have such an intimate setting, though Matt didn't interact too much with the audience. Downside was that the venue was run by volunteers so some security dude was rushing me out of the building while I was shopping for merch after the show. Fuck you old man.

The promoter (probably the tour promoter, maybe the venue promoter) was a douchebag. Saw him running around like an idiot before the set started, then when the roadie gave me Matt's setllst after the show the promoter came up to me right after with his hand out wanting to grab it from me. Uhmm no.

The crowd was lame as fuck. Nobody standing, 95% of the crowd didn't even give the band a standing ovation between the main set & encore. Really? You want the band to come out for an encore with you sitting on your ass?

Ian Browne was fantastic, New lead guitarist had lots of energy though I think Stuart was a bit better player and vibed better with Matt.

Setlist (pretty short, 1st act started at 7pm & Matt ended at 9:30)

Last Parade

Born Losers

What If I Can't See The Stars Mildred?

Shallow's Low

Zero Orchestra

Future Is X-Rated

Here are some videos I took of the Moncton show with my ipod touch that I thought I would share. I was supposed to go with my mom (who is also a huge fan) but my uncle passed away from cancer and she had to catch the red eye to BC the night before.

*Please note: These videos were only meant for her and we were pretty far back, so video quality is TERRIBLE. And there was a grumpy older lady usher giving people the death glare. :|

While I want to hear a full-band Rabbits (complete with steel-sheet drumming, lol), this is really cool.

Also, I feel sorry for that guy in the middle of the crowd standing up by himself. :(

And I have to say, Non Populus is epic. I think for me it's approaching my #1 "slow-burner". It's definitely up there with Near Fantastica, Rabbits, Avalanche, etc.

wow!! thanks for posting that sarah! and sorry about your uncle.

Thank you - cancer is a terrible way to go. :(

The thing about the Moncton show was that the it just didn't feel like a concert venue. Sure they spent a lot of money on acoustics and sound equipment, but the seating was terrible (imagine hotel conference room chairs in front, creaky bleachers in back). And I think a good portion of the crowd may have been Friday night regulars at the casino who show up to everything? Anyways, to cut it short: the music was great, the atmosphere was really weird.

Simply a fantastic show, with a lot of talking from Matt (at least 5 times).

In my opinion, the new guitarist was awesome. Didn't sound exactly like Stu for sure, but I can't tell which one I prefer as the two of them are both really good.

The piano also makes a good add-on compare to the 2009 tour, on a song like Weapon for exemple.

I was at the Montreal show last night and I enjoyed it. The new songs translate real well live and hearing Rabbits was an absolutely terrific moment. It definitely was something I'll never forget.

As for the new guitarist, I really didn't have a problem with him. You could see and tell he plays some of the songs different than Stu but it didn't necessarily take away. Matt was funny last night and very talkative.

I liked Stu better, I was a big fan of Stu. But the new guy has a lot of energy. He definitely seems like more of hard rocker. Just different personalities and styles.

Here are two of my videos from Montreal. I also got a short clip of Weapon that I haven't uploaded yet. I'll be at the Ottawa show next week so I'll see what I can get there.

Just found your Zero Orchestra clip and was going to post it here before I saw your post lol. Thanks for recording/uploading these, your videos always have superb quality!

Funny that you can take "a few" pictures, but only get 1 item signed.

Just got my tix in the mail for the Toronto show. Cool little wristbands, front row, just to the right of Matt. Should be great.
